What is Lymphatic Drainage?
The lymphatic system is responsible for moving lymph fluid through the body. Lymph is a clear fluid that moves through arteries and tissues to cleanse them of impurities. The fluid picks up metabolic debris and moves it through a series of lymph nodes located primarily in the groin, armpits, and neck. The lymphatic system does not have a pump. Lymph flow occurs as a result of our physical activity, which sets the stage for stagnation.
Lymphatic drainage treatments speed up the transport of lymphatic fluids, which include proteins, white blood cells, viruses, bacteria, glucose, salts, water, and toxins. The lymphatic system is located close to the surface of the skin, which explains why it responds to the proprietary blend of ingredients in the VSlenderTM Earth Wrap.
Benefits of Lymphatic Drainage
By increasing the transport and removal of stagnant fluids, lymphatic drainage can:
Stimulate blood circulation and tissue regeneration
Increase and directs lymphatic flow for more efficient removal of excess interstitial fluid
Reduce swelling and water retention
Support the immune system by eliminating toxins as well as blockages to lymph flow
Minimize the appearance of cellulite by reducing the amount of fluid that presses up against the cross-hatched fibers beneath the skin. One study indicated that lymphatic drainage may have skin-firming properties.
Reduce the symptoms of acne, eczema, and digestive disorders
Promote body and mental relaxation
Lymph drainage is recommended by some plastic surgeons for the following:
More efficient healing
To boost healing responses related to scar formation
To reduce swelling and fluid retention after surgery
To remove excess fluid and metabolic waste from tissues
To improve skin quality for a more vibrant appearance
